Together we can create something special! Whether it's a stunning engagement ring, a customized gift, or just a treat for yourself, I would love to design a beautiful piece of jewelry with you, from a paper sketch to physical reality. Browse some of the variety of my past custom work!
A custom piece is a multi-step process. Here is how it works:
Introduction Email - First things first, it’s nice to meet you and thank you for your interest! You’ll want to contact me with a little information regarding what you’re looking for. Be as detailed as possible – thorough description of piece and it’s intention, materials to be used, desired budget, and necessary time frame and/or deadline. Please use “Custom Inquiry” as your subject line. I’ll get back to you with all clarifying questions and comments. There will be several back and forth conversations via email to confirm all the details I’ll need to give you an estimate.
Estimate – After reviewing and discussing all your needs, I will establish a minimum to maximum estimate. I determine this, as well as the initial designs, specifically from your desired budget, because my goal is to deliver you exactly what you want without breaking your bank.
Sketches – Next up, I will begin my design process with basic sketches and simple renderings. I generally supply several options and will email you images. After you’ve narrowed down your choice to one design, I will create a detailed rendering or mini sample of your selection for you to confirm. This is when any changes and adjustments should take place until we arrive at the perfect design!
Deposit – Once your custom design is confirmed, I’m ready to get to the bench! For fabrication to begin, a deposit will be taken of 50% of the minimum estimate.
Prototype – *Subject to project type and value* In some cases, I will produce a rough prototype in sterling silver of the confirmed final design, after a deposit is received. I often implement this additional step with engagement rings or intricate designs. This way you’ll have a better sense of what it will look and feel like, and I’ll have a better sense of how to fabricate the real deal exactly to your liking. You can see the prototype in person at an arranged meeting, I can ship it to you for viewing or trying on, or you can opt for the standard video and images to be emailed. The prototype would be included in the total cost. *Note: Any prototype is the property of the designer and may be used at their discretion as a sample or reference for future custom clients.*
Completion, Final Payment, and Shipping – Yay, it's finished! Upon completion, images will be emailed and a final payment will be made covering the remaining balance plus applicable sales tax (for CA deliveries) and shipping. USPS Express Mail, fully insured, will be the primary method of shipment, unless otherwise requested.
